1957
Kurt Dominik establishes the horticulture business with 20.000m² of freeland and one 120m² green house.
1970
Expansion of the business activities into shipping of garden cultivated products produced by Dominik.
1971
Incorporation of mail order services. Dominik begins sending bulbs and seeds per mail as a 3rd party producer and service provider. Axel Dominik takes over as managing director. Founding of Dominik GmbH & Co. KG. Expansion of the wholesale and mail order activities.
1970-1990
Internationalisation of our marketing and sales, mainly for cactus products, specializing for food retailers.
1993
Founding of Dominik Polska.
1997
Cut flowers are sent for the first time per mail order throughout the whole of Germany under the name Rapido Blumenexpress.
1999
Uwe Dominik and Kurt Dominik Jr. take over the business. Founding of Dominik Hungaria with 14 hectares of freeland area.
2001
The number of flower bouquets sent per mail breaks the one million mark.
2002
14 million packages of seeds are sent for the catalog company Quelle.
2006
The Dominik company receives an exclusive contract in connection with the Football World Cup 2006; to remove the grass from the playing field in Berlin where
the final game took place, and place the pieces into acrylic trestles. Additional "fresh" pieces are prepared for further marketing purposes. The most spectacular
contract in the company's history is a complete success for all parties involved.
2007
The 1993 founded company Dominik Polska buys a 5 hectare large business park with warehouses, refrigerated warehouses and undeveloped space.
Service and distribution are thus strengthened for the long term.
2009
Entrance into the line of business of decorations for All Saint's Day and Advent Up to 30.000 bouquets daily, leave our main warehouse in Hörstel.
On 25hectares of land the Dominik company has
  • 29.000m² of glass greenhouses
  • 5.000m² of foiled greenhouses
  • 2.000m² of shaded greenhouses
  • 4.000m² of warehouse space
  • additional 40.000m² of rented warehouse space and undeveloped space.

In addition Dominik has over 25.000m² of cultivation and 9.000m² undeveloped space in 3rd party greenhouses. The Dominik company employes 140 full time
specialists and up to 600 part time production assistents in and outside of the country.
